Digital Surface Tension Meter/Automatically Interface Tensiometer
Structure and working principle:
The instrument's structure primarily comprises a torsion wire, sensor, platinum ring, and lifting component. During operation, the platinum ring is immersed in a specific position of the liquid under test. A motor, belt, and tray drive the glassware containing the liquid to descend, stretching the film between the platinum ring and the liquid. This stretching subjects the platinum ring to a downward force, causing the torsion wire to twist via a lever arm. The sensor measures the displacement at the lever arm's opposite end, converting the film's deformation into a voltage. After circuit processing, this voltage is transformed into the corresponding tension value, which is automatically displayed. As the film stretches gradually, the tension value increases until the film breaks. The maximum value is recorded as the measured tension value of the liquid. Multiplying by the liquid's correction factor yields the actual tension value , i.e., . The correction factor depends on the measured tension value , liquid density, platinum wire radius, and platinum ring radius.
For example:
After zero adjustment, place a 500mg weight on the paper. The displayed value should be 40.8±0.1. If not, adjust the potentiometer to reach this value before conducting liquid tension tests. Normally, no adjustment is needed if the tension value is within the allowable error range. Calibration is required when using the instrument for the first time, after long-term storage, or when significant test result errors are suspected.
